Insert ball bearing with housing
The FGB assortment offers a wide variety of units with different housing shapes, bearings, seals and locking methods. It includes units to ISO standards and Chinese Industrial Standards (GB). Ball bearing units can accommodate moderate initial misalignment, but normally do not permit axial displacement.
FGB pillow block ball bearing units, flanged ball bearing units and take-up ball bearing units, all are consist of an insert bearing mounted in a housing. An insert bearing is a deep groove ball bearing with a sphered (convex) outside surface and an extended inner ring that includes a mechanism to lock the unit onto the shaft. The housings have a correspondingly sphered but concave bore.
The FGB take-up ball bearing unit assortment comprises insert bearing series and designs, with the main differences between the take-up units being the housing design, the locking method onto the shaft, the sealing solution, and the options for end covers and back seals.
The pillow block is suitable for mounting on flat surfaces and high radial load capacities. The housing is made of cast iron and therefore inexpensive and robust. The bearing insert has an extended inner ring with grub screws for mounting the inner ring on a shaft. Static misalignments can be compensated up to an angle of 2°.

- To protect against corrosion, the housing is painted; the bearing insert and the mounting surface are treated with corrosion protection oil.
