    Bearing housing washer of carbon chromium steel, hardened and phosphated, have groove and lubrication holes. Shaft washer of carbon chromium steel, hardened and phosphated.

     

    Axial thrust spherical plain bearings have a convex spherical surface on the shaft washer and a corresponding concave spherical surface in the housing washer. These bearings are intended to accommodate axial loads primarily, but can also accommodate combined (radial and axial) loads. The radial load component of a combined load should not exceed 50% of the axial load component. When radial loads are larger, thrust bearings should be combined with radial bearings in the GE dimension series.

     

    The steel-on-steel axial thrust spherical plain bearings supplied by FGB are made of carbon chromium steel and are hardened and phosphated,  it has characteristics of wear-resistance and wear-corrosion. Bearings with this sliding contact surface combination require regular relubrication. To facilitate efficient lubrication, housing washer have an annular groove and a lubrication hole. The high wear resistance of the sliding surfaces makes these bearings especially suitable for bearing arrangements where heavy loads of alternating direction, shock loads or heavy static loads have to be accommodated.

     

    Axial thrust spherical plain bearings can be separated, enabling shaft and housing washers to be mounted separately.
