    • Designations of Spherical Plain Bearings.

    Spherical plain bearings are sliding bearings whose inner and outer rings have spherical sliding surfaces. Spherical plain bearings are designed to transmit radial, axial, and combined loads in movable or stationary connections of machines and mechanisms.

    The additional designation placed to the left before the primary designation through a hyphen indicates the degree of accuracy of the bearing. There are two accuracy classes for bearings: 1 and 2. Accuracy class 2 is considered normal and is not indicated in the designation.
    For example: 1-Ш6, 1-2Ш17РУ - here (1-accuracy class) (-2 is the size series)

    Sometimes, and only for ШЛТ bearings, the designation of the assembly series is indicated to the left of accuracy class 1. There are three assembly series: 2 and 0 - both based on starting friction torque, 3 - based on radial clearance. The assembly series 0 is not indicated in the designation. If the assembly series is not specified, accuracy class 1 is also not indicated for such bearings.

    For tightly fitted spherical plain bearings assembled with small radial clearances, an additional designation is assigned: НТ and НУ:
    НТ - corresponds to reduced rotational accuracy and dimensions of mounting surfaces;
    НУ - corresponds only to reduced rotational accuracy.

    • Primary Designation

    The primary designation of spherical plain bearings consists of the bearing series designation, bearing type designation, and the inner diameter value in millimeters.

     

    • Spherical Plain Bearing Size Series (E, 7, 2, G, C), (3, 5, 6, 8, 9), (H)

    The following main size series exist: E, 7, 2, G, C
    Size series 7 is considered normal and is not indicated in the part number.
    Size series E is indicated only when a spherical plain bearing with the same inner diameter is included in series 7. Otherwise, series E is not indicated.
    Size series G can be denoted by the Russian letter "Г" (G).

    There are special size series of spherical plain bearings: 3, 5, 6, 8, 9
    These indicate a series of widths and diameters that differ from the main design.
    For example: 9ШМ35, 6ШСЛ60; 9ШС480

    The Russian letter "H" is used to denote bearings with non-standard dimensions.

    An articulated connection is a connection where spherical plain bearings operate with the mutual displacement of one ring relative to the other, at relatively low sliding speeds.

    Ш - Spherical plain bearing for movable connections without holes and grooves for lubrication.
    ШЛ - Spherical plain bearing without holes and grooves for lubrication, with two fractures on the outer ring in the transverse direction.
    ШС - Spherical plain bearing for movable connections with holes and grooves for lubrication in the inner ring.
    ШП - Spherical plain bearing without holes and grooves for lubrication, with a single transverse fracture on the outer ring.
    ШСП - Spherical plain bearing with holes and grooves for lubrication in the inner ring, and a single transverse fracture on the outer ring.
    ШСЛ - Spherical plain bearing with holes and grooves for lubrication in the inner ring, and two fractures on the outer ring in the transverse direction.
    ШСР - Spherical plain bearing with holes and grooves for lubrication in the inner ring, and a slot on the outer ring in the longitudinal direction.
    ШСШ - Spherical plain bearing with holes and grooves for lubrication in the inner ring, and a wide inner ring.
    ШН - Spherical plain bearing for movable connections with a sliding surface of steel / metal-fluoroplastic - has a non-detachable design.
    ШЛТ - Spherical plain bearing for movable connections with a sliding surface of steel / aramid fiber and the outer rings have a two-fracture construction.
    Ш..Е - Spherical plain bearing with inner rings made of composite material - a mixture of polyamide with fluoroplastic.
    ШУ - Radial-thrust spherical plain bearings.
    ШВХ - Spherical plain bearing with a stud.

    Fixed Connection ШМ ШМП ШМЛ.
    Fixed connection - an assembly joint where spherical plain bearings work under periodic single shifts of one ring relative to the other; primarily designed to compensate for shaft and housing misalignment.
    ШМ - Spherical plain bearing for fixed connections without holes and grooves for lubrication;
    ШМП - Bearing without holes and grooves for lubrication with a single transverse fracture on the outer ring;
    ШМЛ - Bearing without holes and grooves for lubrication with two transverse fractures on the outer ring;
    Bearings of types ШМ, ШМП, ШМЛ are manufactured with minimal internal clearances.

     

    Radial-thrust Spherical Plain Bearings У
    There are also radial-thrust spherical plain bearings indicated by the presence of the letter У (U) in the main designation.
    For example: 5ШУ130

     

    Inner diameter of the spherical plain bearing
    Following the designation of the constructive type of the spherical plain bearing is its inner diameter in millimeters. This can be one, two, or three digits.
    For example: Ш9 inner diameter=9mm, 2ШЛТ45Ю1Т inner diameter=45mm, ШСЛ130 inner diameter=130mm.
